General information about the city of Marrakesh and The Body Camp Marrakesh

FAQs

Check-in on the Saturday of arrival starts at 16.00 until 19.00. A Welcome evening meal will be served at 19.00.

We do appreciate that flights to Marrakesh from some airports are limited, and may not arrive until late in the evening - if this is the case, please email us (info@thebodycamp.com) or call us on +44 (0)1548 859 552 to discuss.

Unfortunately, we're not able to accommodate arrivals at The Body Camp villa before early afternoon, as Saturdays are our changeover days and our hard-working team takes a few hours off.

Check-out is 09.00 on departure day.

Unfortunately, we're unable to accommodate late check-outs or offer luggage storage.

Many of the larger hotels in the city offer day passes so that you can use their facilities and store your luggage for the day. Our team in Marrakesh will be happy to help you organise this.

Alternatively, you could spend a few hours being pampered at one of the many spas locally, such as Les Bains De Marrakech (https://www.lesbainsdemarrakech.com).

You can also use a luggage storage facility, such as the one at Marrakesh train station, if you fancy browsing the souks for a few hours.

Feel free to contact the office if you need any advice or assistance: info@thebodycamp or +44 (0)1548 859 552.

Yes, return airport transfers are included in the cost of your stay. Our partner transfer company will meet you on arrival at Marrakesh Menara airport and transfer you to The Body Camp villa via minibus.

There are currently no entry requirements for UK citizens, other than a valid passport with at least 3 months left on it.

There is no need for a visa unless you wish to stay for longer than 90 days in the country.

There is no requirement for proof of vaccination status.

If you are not a UK resident, we strongly recommend that you check your country's government website guidelines on entry requirements for Morocco before you attend The Body Camp.

The climate in Marrakesh in January/February is perfect for exercising; chilly at night but dry and warm (not hot) during the day

January maximum daytime temperatures are around 19 degrees celsius/66 degrees fahrenheit

At night, the temperatures drop to around 5 degrees celsius/41 degrees fahrenheit, but can be as low as 0 degrees.

Average monthly rainfall for January is around 30mm, and there's an average of 7 hours of sunshine per day.

You'll find a kit list on the main Marrakesh retreat page. The climate in January and February means that taking clothes for all weathers is advisable!

Obviously, lots of workout gear is a must, as well as layers and cover-ups; the early morning starts will be chilly, so a hat and gloves are a good idea. Afternoons are much warmer, so t-shirts and swimwear are also needed.

Rain is possible, so sturdy footwear is a good idea for the waterfalls trip.

Evening meals at our retreats are a relaxed affair, so loungewear and comfies are all you need. There's a celebration meal on the final evening which many of our guests get more dressed up for, but there's no obligation to do so.

The cost of your stay at The Body Camp Marrakesh includes your accommodation, all meals, snacks and drinks, the fitness programme and the excursions and transport included in it, plus return airport transfers.

Flights are not included in the price. Spending money during your stay is also not included.

We cannot recommend strongly enough that all guests have valid travel insurance from the point of booking; if for any reason you have to cancel your holiday, you will need this to recover your booking costs, as they are non-refundable. Our booking terms & conditions are available here: Booking terms & conditions

Even if you're a UK resident and your stay is at our UK retreat, you must still obtain travel insurance as you will not be due a refund from us if you have to cancel your booking.

A travel insurance policy which covers activity holidays

Our Marrakesh retreat runs from Saturday to Saturday, with the fitness programme itself running from the Sunday morning to the Friday afternoon.

Occasionally, guests have to arrive late or leave early for personal or work reasons, but must still book the full 7 night stay and notify the office via email (in fo@thebodycamp.com) or phone (+44 (0)1548 859 552) if they are unable to arrive or depart at the allotted time.

We don't publish a weekly schedule as the exact programme is subject to change according to the weather forecast, group numbers, and how many of that number are returning guests.

You will be informed of the next day's exact timetable during the evening meal the night before.

Activities will include circuits, team pool games, team sports tournaments, boxing, yoga, mindfulness and mental clarity sessions, cookery demonstrations and Q&As, cold water therapy, and visits to the Ouzoud waterfalls and a local souk.

The all-important downtime will include 1 massage and 1 hammam (traditional Moroccan steam room) session per guest. There are 2 swimming pools (one heated, one unheated) at the villa for afternoon relaxation, and floodlit courts for tennis, pickleball, basketball and petanque.
